DSTP is over. Hurray!!!

Report Cards:

Report Cards are coming out this week. I want to take the time to inform you that some students may have a low grade. Some students did not turn in their projects and/or may have had a low assessment or two. Some students have not been doing as good as they can. If your student is one of these students, I hope next time they will try harder.

The vacation and snow days have taken their toll. I had most classes on average 8 times this trimester instead of 10 times. I believe some students had a hard time refocusing after being out.


8th grade:
8th grade is finishing up a unit on forum and learning about business. They will have a test next rotation. Please study the Guided Note Taking worksheet and the other worksheet (p.21) reviewing the information (in Latin)- 3.5 Celer, Pantagathus, Syphax.

After the quiz, the students will be starting a new unit on Root Words, Prefixes & Suffixes.


7th grade:
7th grade is having a quiz this rotation on the Houses in Pompeii information. Students should study their Houses in Pompeii worksheet. 99.9% of the information needed to be known for the quiz is on the worksheet.

7th graders will be starting a new unit on the Roman Gods.


2-6 Grade:

2-6 grades are wrapping up the short animal unit. I have spent approximately 3 rotations on the animals, colors, and simple sentence structure using the animals and colors. Students will have a quiz next time the come.

Purple is morado
Grey is gris
Brown-cafe

White is blanco
Crema is cream
Pink is rosado
And orange is anaranjado

k-1:

K-1 have just finished the family unit and is about to finish the days of the week. I am in the middle of assessing the students on their family vocabular. I will be assessing their days of the week soon.

This rotation is a communication unit. The students are listening to The Three Little Pigs. I read it in English. They see it in a animated video in Spanish. Students should be listening for vocabulary used through out the year (vocabulary recognition). For example: Numbers 1-10, greetings and farewells, classroom things, etc.
