enero: el nuevo ano

Hola,

It is the New Year. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday vacation. The students are very energetic and excited, and they're back in school. They want to talk about all the new things they have gotten and what they have done over break.

Major News
1. The end of the Marking Period is fast arriving. It is in the middle of this month.
2. I have a few students that have not done their corrections on their quizzes/tests. These need to be in ASAP (before Marking Period ends). See me for the quizzes/tests.
3. On this next rotation, I am quickly going to go over El dia de los reyes magos (The Day of the Wise Kings) that falls on the 6th of January.

Country/City Information
I would like the students to research their country. The topic for this month is holidays and festivals. I would like each student to find about 2 festivals/holidays that their country celebrates. Students can print out the information on the holidays/festivals or they can write a short summary (date of festival/holiday, what they are celebrating, what they do during celebration, etc.). Will get something out in paper form.

That's all folks!!! Any questions, email or call (Ext. 207).

Hasta Luego.....

Hello,
my name is Antonio Jareno and I am a Spanish teacher who has just set up a web for both teachers and learners of the Spanish language, Time for Spanish, at www.timeforspanish.com . So if you think the topic suits your site’s interests and concerns, please have a look at it – and, provinding you find it useful, a link to it would be much appreciated.
Thank you very much for your attention. Best regards,
